If you have heard of the South Beach Diet but are not sure how or why it works, let's first understand the basics. What makes the South Beach Diet different from the others is it does not encourage you to eliminate carbohydrates and fat from your diet. Instead you trade them in for good carbohydrates and the fat you need to remain healthy. There are 3 phases to the South Beach Diet. Phase 1 lasts for 14 days and you eat healthy balanced meals that include meats and vegetables. By the time phase 2 begins you will most likely have already lost at least 8 lbs. Phase 2 and 3 are different for each individual in length.
When you are looking through South Beach Diet recipes you will find there are many foods you are still able to eat that many diets tend to exclude. Of course there are foods that you must avoid in order to carry out the South Beach Diet properly. Such foods include:
Alcohol
Baked goods
Fruit
Bread
Yogurt

Honey-baked ham
This is just a short example of the different foods that you should avoid. Now let's take a look at the foods you can enjoy on a daily basis.
Skinless chicken breasts
